Police raid Parramatta sex shop

2/07/2008 3:48:00 PM
Police have seized thousands of unclassified pornographic movies in a sex shop raid at Parramatta.

Detectives from the Parramatta Local Area Command executed a search warrant at 10.30am yesterday on an adult book store in Church Street.

The detectives seized about 7000 DVD and 1000 VHS unclassified pornographic movie titles.

The Parramatta raid follows the seizure of thousands of pornographic titles and more than three litres of amyl nitrate at a Darlinghurst adult book shop last week.

Police don't believe there are any links between the two stores.

All the items seized yesterday will undergo classification and charges are expected to be laid in the future.

The search warrant was conducted under the NSW Classification (Publications Filming and Computers) Enforcement Act 1995.

Anyone who suspects the supply of unclassified pornographic movie titles can report the matter to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
