$1000 reward

Penrith City Council is offering a $1000 reward, no questions asked, for the return of a Gerald Lewers copper sculpture recently stolen from the Penrith Regional Gallery & Lewers Bequest.

The piece, which to add insult to injury is the logo of the gallery on the Nepean River, is valued at about $20,000 but is said to be worth only $200 as scrap metal.

The sculpture, which is 1.6 metres wide, one metre high and about 30 kilograms, had been in the gallery's heritage gardens for almost 50 years. Contact: Carl Spears on 0417 654 798.

Night of jazz

"Flawless musicality'' is how the combination of singer Kristin Berardi and pianist Mike Nock have been described.

Backed by a band of top artists, the show at Parramatta's Riverside Theatres on Saturday promises to be a night of great jazz. The band includes guitarist James Muller, bassist Mike Majkowski, drummer Tim Firth and tenor saxophonist David Theak.
