The modern Zest Cafe is for the family with a large selection of meals at reasonable prices.

Part of the refurbished Workers Parramatta club, it is modern with timber floorboards and plants, plus it is children friendly.

Kids can join the club's karaoke evening on Fridays from the cafe.

There are light meals ($10) steaks ($15.80) and sandwiches ($4.80).

A specials board has pasta ($7.50), roast lamb ($12.50) and grilled fish with vegetables ($13.20).

The chef's Italian dishes are tasty and pasta dishes have proven popular.

The cafe is open-plan with views of two bowling greens, parks and the Parramatta River.

Drinks are club prices and the the TAB is gold standard.

Zest Cafe is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner.

Zest Cafe, Workers Parramatta, 163-165 George Street, 9633 5819.
